Our Comet Club programme during term time and school holidays provides a fun and stimulating timetable enabling school children to enjoy creative, imaginative activities in a relaxed and homely environment. Activities are carefully planned to meet the needs of the age group, by a qualified and experienced team. Children having the benefit of small groups.
Before and After school
Morning drop-off (nursery to school) all children must arrive at nursery before 8.30am leaving plenty of time to leave for school.
Afternoon pick-up (school to nursery), the children are picked up from school by a member of staff in our own people carriers. Tea is on arrival followed by activities. There is a walled garden with a summerhouse and safety floor for outdoor play with age appropriate equipment.
Each holiday a timetable of activities is planned. Details of activities are given nearer the time. External activities may have an extra charge. Extra-curricular activities are open to children in the Comet Club. Full or part time sessions can be accommodated to give flexibility.
Group of children enjoy many field trips. William House Nursery has three people carriers to facilitate this.
This transport is also used to drop off and pick up the children to and from school. Seat belts and child safety seats are in place, all times the children are accompanied by a member of the nursery team.
On occasion, the children are also taken by coach, train or even leg power for fun activity days out during the school holidays.
Musical Theatre and Dance
Musical theatre takes place in our purpose built studio hall. It is a valuable aspect of our curriculum, offering opportunity for the children to explore and express through drama, dance and song. Promoting and building upon confidence, social skills and team work. Emphasis is very much about having fun!
Our dance class provides a superb learning opportunity for boys and girls, to learn a variety of different styles of dance. The tuition will develop rhythm and co-ordination through listening to a variety of music and using a variety of props to participate. The emphasis is strongly on enjoyment! The session includes links to the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum Expressive art and design, Physical Development, Personal Social and Emotional Development and Phase 1 letters and Sounds.
