Our aim is to provide a stimulating environment using equipment and resources to help your child develop their potential socially and intellectually as well as physically, through opportunities and experiences inside and outside of nursery.

All children birth to 11 years are welcome, whether parents are at work or at home.

For peace of mind, parents can rest assured that the care and education of their child will be met holistically, and to a high standard.

Activities are carefully thought out and provide the foundation for school and life. For example, bricks are different in size, shape and weight - the beginning of maths. The children have freedom of discovery in the creative activities of painting, clay and sand.

Socially mixing with others builds on their language skills. Singing, talking and having stories gives opportunities to learn and communicate freely with their peers or adults with confidence, therefore encouraging independence, a positive self-image and an understanding of their fellow man - promoting good citizenship skills, regardless of colour, creed, religion or gender.

The children are encouraged to take part in all aspects of nursery life, from preparing to tidy up time; these are part of the curriculum but above all our aim is to provide a secure and happy environment.

William House is a very creative nursery. Please can children wear their play clothes, as messy activities such as painting can mark clothing. Unfortunately, nursery cannot be held responsible for any marks that do not wash out.

Our team helps and supports children and their families by recognising the demands of modern life. Every member of the team has a keen insight into the needs of the child.

Our staff ratio is:

  • Birth to 2 years, 1:3
  • 2 years to 3 years, 1:4
  • 3 years to 5 years, 1:8
  • 5 years to 11 years, 1:8
